Abstract

Chronic recurrent aphthous stomatitis is one of the most common diseases of the oral mucosa. The prevalence of recurrent aphthous stomatitis, according to various authors, ranges from 10 to 40% in various age groups of the population. Over
the past 10 years, there has been a marked trend towards an increase in the number of patients with recurrent aphthous stomatitis, and with its severe form. In case of establishing the source of allergy, which led to development of CRAS, mandatory
isolation of the patient is necessary from the allergen. In addition, immunotherapy is prescribed corrective and immunomodulatory therapy, vitamin therapy. During periods of exacerbation, patients should adhere to diet, which consists of eliminating irritating, rough and hot food from the diet. For local treatment of aphthae, antiseptics, proteolysis inhibitors , necrolytic , pain-relieving, keratoplastic and anti inflammatory drugs are used.
