Abstract

The results of the effectiveness of intraoperative disinfection of the cyst bed and conservative anthelmintic therapy in the complex treatment of echinococcosis in children are analyzed. This study is based on the results of examination and treatment of 300 children with liver echinococcosis aged 3 to 15 years, who were undergoing inpatient examination and treatment at the TashPMI clinic for the period from 2015 to 2023, of which relapse of the disease was detected in 17 cases. Through a retrospective and prospective study, it was established that the main causes of relapse of liver echinococcosis were: insufficient treatment of the cystic bed during echinococcectomy, as well as short-term and ineffective postoperative anthelmintic therapy.
